ex (out) + ceed (go), 「走出去」這意象代表什麼呢？代表某個數值超界了唷～故中文抓「超過」。
名詞excess的中文就變成「超量」，此字也可以當形容詞「超量的」，恆放在名詞前面修飾之。
另外有個形容詞excessive也是「超量的」之意，可以放在名詞前面，也可以放在句子中，當主詞補語用。

ex (out) + press (壓)，「壓出來」，把東西壓出來是什麼意思呢？這邊特別是指把自己的想法「壓出來」讓別人知道，簡言之，中文為「表達」。
名詞expression自然也是「表達」，如果搭配不同的字，出來的中文定義用字不太一樣。
例子一：facial expression 「臉部的表達」，自然我們中文翻「臉部表情」，但日光認為這個英文名詞的中文不需要多背一個定義「表情」，只要抓緊核心定義「表達」就夠用了唷～
例子二：freedom of expression 「表達的自由」，更中文一點的意思就是「言論自由」了吧？一樣不需要背expression有一個額外的意思叫「言論」，一樣記得其核心定義是「表達」就夠用了。
形容詞expressive意思則是為「表達豐富的」。

如果當名詞用，可分為不可數名詞，意思「出口生意」，或是可數名詞，且常用複數型，表達「出口的產品」。
另外一個名詞exportation是個不可數名詞，專指「出口」這動作。
